Did you know that essential oils can be more effective than DEET products for repelling mosquitoes, biting flies and gnats? A recent study showed a combo of lemon and eucalyptus oil had a protection period of up to 12 hours after application- much greater than DEET or picaridin!!! A simple recipe is to add 3-5 drops of lemon oil and 3-5 drops of eucalyptus oil to 1 oz spray bottle and mist onto skin. Or if you would rather have a premixed blend, use 1-2 drops of purification on your clothing when out for a picnic!
